Jason is an integral part of Winnipeg. He helped launch the CEO Sleepout raising awareness of homelessness and poverty in Winnipeg’s core as well as working in various capacities to address the needs of downtown communities. This includes fundraising over $200K to help support employment programs for our city’s 1400 homeless citizens. Also Jason was involved with foreign humanitarian initiatives like the Wasichana Fund, which helps educate young at risk Kenyan girls on sexual health and provides them with feminine hygiene products that allows them to continue their schooling. The citation could go on about how Jason has made Winnipeg a better place for his efforts. Needless to say Jason makes a difference in the world around him. I am proud to award Jason the Canada 150th Anniversary Winnipeg Centre MP’s Medal for Volunteerism.
